A more powerful Aston Martin DBX is coming

Because what you really want is a stupendously powerful Aston SUV

Published: 18 Jan 2022

Aston Martin is readying a more powerful version of its DBX SUV, at least according to a new teaser released today. “Change is coming,” the teaser reads. “Power talks. The world’s most powerful luxury SUV.”

‘Most powerful’. Huh. The current Aston Martin DBX uses AMG’s 4.0-litre biturbo V8 to punch out 542bhp and 516lb ft of torque, so bank on a figure a lot higher for whatever this new one will be called.

Indeed, Mercedes-AMG’s GLE 63 S uses the same 4.0-litre biturbo V8 to produce a heady 604bhp and 627lb ft of torque. As we discovered last year, that car is "stupidly fast": it’ll do 0-62mph in just 3.8s and top out at 175mph.

The reveal for this “most powerful” of Aston Martin DBXs is scheduled for 1 February 2022, so watch this space…
