The Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio now come in Estrema spec
Estrema spec is now available in the UK, adding adaptive suspension and a zest of carbon fibre
Estrema is Italian for Extreme, so if we told you that Estrema versions of the Alfa Romeo Giulia saloon and Stelvio SUV were coming to the UK, you’d be intrigued wouldn’t you?
Well, as it happens Alfa has done exactly that. The Estrema models build on what’s offered with the Veloce trim, adding in adaptive suspension and a limited slip differential as standard.
According to Alfa this results in more comfort and more grip in all conditions. Which is fine, but… doesn’t sound very extreme does it?
Power comes from a 277bhp 2.0-litre turbo petrol, although the Stelvio gets a 2.2-litre turbo diesel option capable of 207bhp. It’ll be dawning on the eagle-eyed among you that there’s no extra performance available by upgrading to Estrema. Boo.
So it’s a humble style upgrade really, and for your money you get carbon fibre mirror caps and front grille, five-hole 19in alloys (21s on the Stelvio) and a choice of four exterior colours: red, white, black or blue.
Inside there are carbon fibre accents, Alcantara leather, red stitching throughout and a 14-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.
And how much is Alfa asking? £50,579 for the Giulia or £59,999 for the Stelvio; the diesel is £2k cheaper, if you’d rather that instead.
