The Zyrus LP1020 Stimolante is a Huracán EVO on steroids
Despite its 1,090bhp output and outrageous aero, it’s completely road-legal
Norwegian tuning house Zyrus Engineering has turned the already hot Lamborghini Huracán Evo into a smouldering Minotaur with 1,090bhp and 730lb ft of torque. It’s called the ‘LP1020 Stimolante’, and courtesy of its now twin-turbocharged 5.2-litre V10, Zyrus has unlocked a new top speed of 215mph. Yep, that's 'stimulating' alright.
Just 24 units will be made, but perhaps the wildest fact is the Stimolante is completely road legal. Imagine being tailgated by this on the outside lane of the M25.
Right, let’s talk details. Zyrus has fitted the raging bull with new Ohlins TTX four-way shock absorbers, carbon ceramic discs and Pirelli Trofeo R rubber. Do avoid the temptation to put second-hand tyres on, where possible.
There's a carbon aero package that includes new diffusers, wheel arches, air scoops and that unmissable rear wing. This means it tips the scales at 1,592kg, and thanks to the carbon design, also means the Stimolante produces 1,300kg of downforce at 149mph - the equivalent of having a Ford Fiesta perched on top of you at that speed. And finally, Zyrus has fitted a lightweight Inconel exhaust system to express all this furious performance.
Inside, you’ll find the traditional six-point racing harness attached to carbon seats with custom stitching. A titanium half-roll cage is also fitted, and can be painted to complement the owners’ external colour choice.
Hilariously, the Stimolante has the ability to capture video footage using Zyrus’ ‘Smart Dash’ control system, with the sensors linked to a cloud-based network. Drivers can use this to view data and telemetry, which can then be accessed via their smartphone. This could also be a pretty hard-hitting humbling mechanism.
Zyrus - which was founded in 2018 - has been tinkering with the Huracán platform since its inception and even took it racing under the name ‘Racing NM Norway’ - claiming 30 national GT1+ victories and two NM championship titles in the process.
In fact, the last two seasons have been campaigned with an all-carbon prototype: the 1,200bhp LP1200 Strada. That car has since taken in over 11,000 track miles and acted as a test bed for the Stimolante. We wonder how many of those miles were tracked using the all-important dash cam?
