Watch a Koenigsegg One:1 destroy an Audi R8 on a drag strip

The Audi R8 GT Spyder is a fast car. It has a 5.2-litre V10 producing 552bhp, and will accelerate from 0-62mph in 3.8 seconds, before hitting the limiter at 197mph.

However, the Koenigsegg One:1 is a really fast car. It has a twin-turbocharged 5.0-litre V8, 1,340bhp, 600kg of downforce, and will go from 0-62mph – theoretically at least – in 2.8 seconds, and onto a top speed of 273mph. So, um, nuclear fast, then.

Here, in a not-at-all-surprising video of a drag race between Audi R8 GT Spyder and said Koenigsegg at a recent car enthusiast's event – kindly supplied by ‘The BHP Project’ and filmed at Bruntingthorpe – we see both cars in a fist fight.

The R8 manages a cleaner getaway than the ‘Segg. But then the One:1 wakes up. And tears a hole through time.
