This tuned Merc-AMG GT S is packing 604bhp

Merc’s twin-turbo poster boy gets treated to a power hike and a 205mph top speed

Published: 07 Jul 2015

Mercedes has big plans for the AMG GT supercar: big plans to create a ‘family’ of GTs, including a faster, harder, nastier ‘Black Series’.

This 604bhp AMG GT, however, isn’t that car.

Yep, German tuner Performmaster has beaten Merc to the punch by rolling out an ECU tweak for the AMG GT S, boosting its already fighty 503bhp twin-turbo V8 to an even fightier 604bhp.

There are many more torques, too – 575lb ft, up from 479lb ft – and correspondingly faster acceleration times. 0-62mph now takes just 3.6 seconds (against the original car’s 3.8 seconds), 0-124mph takes 10.2 secs, and the GT's top speed rises from 193mph to 205mph.

There is no word on price at the moment, but if you are interested, we suspect you will not care. Of course, we’re still waiting on the Black Series GT, but in the meantime, this ought to be fast enough…
