Right, let’s all plead with Ian Callum to build this Vanquish shooting brake
The man who penned the original Vanquish teases a big-booted restomod. We want one
“Another twist on our Vanquish VC25,” said Ian Callum on Twitter alongside the picture you see above. And what a picture.
What you’re seeing there is a render of a first-generation Aston Martin Vanquish reimagined with an elongated roof, a shooting brake-style rear end and a fantastic-looking little ducktail spoiler.
The Vanquish of course is a car that Callum originally penned while boss of TWR Design, and in recent years the Scot has taken to updating his creation with the £550,000 VC25 restomod.
That car gets some styling tweaks compared to the original, as well as new LED lighting, fancy Bilstein dampers, a wider track and a 10mm ride height drop among other upgrades. Oh, and the 5.9-litre V12 is reworked to produce 580bhp.
So, as nothing's been confirmed, what we now need to do is plead with Mr Callum to build this shooting brake version. And perhaps we should all ask him to lend it to Top Gear when it’s finished? Just a thought…
