Novitec has slightly modified this Ferrari SF90 to 1,019bhp

It’s still early days for the Ferrari SF90, but already German tuner Novitec has found a way to liberate a bit more power and torque from the all-wheel drive hybrid hypercar’s V8.

Normally a tuner like Novitec would, before fitting any new parts, have a play with the ECU. But we suspect the SF90’s brain is more complicated than most cars’, so for now the extra 33bhp and 43lb ft comes solely from a new exhaust.

The “elaborately calibrated” system, with 100-cell metal catalysts, helps the engine breathe more freely and better regulate temperature in the engine bay. Optional gold-plating does an even better job of regulating heat, and you can have a version of the system fashioned from F1-style Inconel if you wish.

Total system output is up from 986bhp to 1,019bhp – not a big step, admittedly, but we’re promised “further performance upgrades” are in development along with a carbon-fibre aero kit. Novitec says 0-62mph takes 2.5 seconds, and the top speed is “over 211mph”.

This particular SF90 is wearing special wheels courtesy of Vossen. Further improving that stance is the lowered ride height – by 30mm at the front at 25mm at the back.
