This is the new Maserati GranCabrio Folgore, a 750bhp all-electric convertible
The four-seat EV will boast a powerful tri-motor setup, claim 280 miles of range and get *all* the head turns
Maserati has finally revealed its GranCabrio Folgore, and in news that'll surprise few, it's gorgeous. There are very few four-seat all-electric convertibles on the market right now, allowing Maser the chance to get there first before stuff like the Bentley EXP 12 Speed 6e or the Genesis X Convertible arrive.
Design-wise it’s… like an electric version of the recently-announced GranCabrio Trofeo. Though, there are a few key differences including a now slated grille and a wind deflector behind the rear seat passengers. It’ll also continue to offer the headline bronzed copper finish.
Drive is provided by the same tri-motor setup as the GranTurismo Folgore, which means around 750bhp and just under 1,000 torques sent to all four wheels, albeit now dealing with an added 80 or so kilograms. That’s then paired with a 92.5kWh battery to provide a claimed 280 miles of range.
Another big change from its fellow Folgore siblings is a potential sound generator, akin to the Abarth 500, which Maserati has suggested could sound ‘identical’ both internally and externally. Interesting.
Pricing is yet to be confirmed for the GranCabrio Folgore, but expect it to nudge the GranTurismo Folgore’s £180k up a bit.
Aside from the GranCabrio, Maserati has reconfirmed the all-electric MC20 will also arrive at some point next year as it ramps up its goals to become a completely all-electric brand. With a gorgeous convertible at its heart.
