The Koenigsegg Jesko has already sold out

Koenigsegg confirm all 125 Jeskos are spoken for

Published: 20 Mar 2019

In news that should surprise precisely nobody, the Koenigsegg Jesko has completely sold out. That’s 125 cars at around $3million a pop. Ker-ching, or something.

The company says that by the time the Jesko was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this month, it had already sold 83 of them. The remaining cars were sold within five days of the car’s debut. Production is scheduled to begin towards the end of 2020 at a rate of one car per week, so latecomers can expect a pretty long wait...

For those who missed out altogether, hope is not lost. Koenigsegg says some of the build slots were bought by dealers for “clients who could not attend Geneva”, so people who want one are still in with a chance of bagging themselves what could be the world’s first 300mph car.

A little reminder: the Jesko is the replacement for the Agera, and is theoretically capable of over 300mph. Named in honour of Christian von Koenigsegg’s father, it uses a heavily modified version of the Agera’s 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that revs to 8,500rpm. That V8 drives the rear wheels via a bespoke and deeply clever nine-speed multi-clutch transmission. Power is rated at 1,262bhp on 95 octane unleaded, or 1,578bhp and 1,106lb ft of torque if you fill it with E85 biofuel.

Buyers can choose between track and top-speed variants. Thanks to that enormous front splitter and boomerang shaped, tilting rear wing, the former generates around 800kg of it at 155mph, 1,000kg at 171mph and 1,400kg at its undisclosed top speed. The latter, the one that could one day reach 300mph, will still produce 500kg. Performance figures have not been disclosed.
