Donkervoort’s next car is called the ‘P24 RS’, and it’s gunning for lap records

Targeting even more oomph than the outgoing F22, the P24 also signals the end of Donkervoort’s use of Audi five-pots

Published: 18 Mar 2025

Donkervoort has confirmed its replacement for the F22 will be called the ‘P24 RS’. You'll be particularly interested in the 'RS' bit of its name, which Donkervoort has only applied to two cars in the past: the 270 RS, which set a ‘Ring record back in 2006, and the GTO RS, which did the same at the Bilster Berg circuit in 2014. Some mighty big boots, those.

“Both have been engineered with driver enjoyment and engagement at their core, and both are born from an obsession with lightweight construction, but the P24 RS will push the F22’s performance even further,” says brand boss Denis Donkervoort. “There are records waiting to be broken, and the P24 RS has the speed to do it.”

With the F22 Final Five, Donkervoort also confirmed it’s ending its long association with Audi’s 2.5-litre turbocharged five-pot. Though, we've yet to be told just what will be replacing it, only that it will be a "new development". Perhaps it's planning to pack a brood of roadrunners into an in-line five arrangement?

If this engine wants to beat the F22, the targets are as follows: 500bhp, 480lb ft, 0-62 in 2.5s and a top speed of 180mph. We sincerely hope it retains the option of a manual gearbox. We like manual gearboxes. And so do you.

The F22 can also pull up to 2.3g in lateral acceleration and cornering, plus up to 1.12g in braking force. If you don’t know what any of this means, it roughly translates to pretty ruddy fast on a racetrack. And plentiful to reverse a strategically constructed comb-over.

The P24’s full reveal will happen later this year, but between now and then, Donkervoort has promised to drip-feed information about the car’s development, design and specifications. Reckon Mercedes and its AMG One should be concerned?
