Brace! The Lexus LFA’s successor will arrive on 5 December
New V8-engined Toyota Gazoo Racing supercar is almost upon us. Hear it here!
Well, it has certainly been a busy few days for Toyota. Just this week it has announced that Century will be spun off into its new top-of-the-tree luxury brand, and that Lexus might actually put a six-wheeled MPV into production.
Now there’s even more exciting news though, because we’ve finally had confirmation that the Lexus LFA’s successor will be unveiled on 5 December.
Yep, Toyota has launched a microsite with a countdown to the reveal, and at the time of writing there’s just 48 days and 10 hours to go. Stay calm people, it’s finally happening!
At first we thought it might be given the name Lexus LFR, but it’s now rumoured to be called the GR GT (with GR also spinning off into its own brand in the new ‘Toyota Group’). We know that it’ll look something like a road-going version of the GR GT3 Concept that was first shown back in 2022, and we heard it in action for the very first time at Goodwood in July. Definitely a V8 under that long bonnet.
Want to hear more? Toyota’s recent YouTube stream to explain its new five-brand approach included a section on the upcoming supercar. Skip to the 45th minute in the video below to remind yourself of the LFA Nürburgring Edition’s glorious 4.8-litre V10, then compare that to the noise of the new V8…
