Autobots… bug out? Check out this Transformer-themed Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse

Is this the 254mph, blue carbon-bodied entry ticket you’ve been looking for to join Optimus Prime?

Published: 25 Apr 2024

Bugatti only built around 450 Veyrons in total across the various editions during its 10-year production spell… so they’re pretty rare. And yet, with cars of this nature, it seems that ‘rare’ just simply doesn’t cut the mustard for some buyers.

So how’s this Grand Sport Vitesse in full Autobot spec that’s soon to be auctioned off by RM Sotheby’s? We can already hear What I’ve done by Linkin Park playing in the distance as we begin to flesh out the details.

Let’s start with that eye-catching exterior livery, which comprises a blue tone with white patterns culminating in an Autobot logo along the bonnet. The lower sections of the all-carbon body then adopt a pitch-black tone, which we expect will form the arms and legs of its sentient form, while the diamond-cut alloys should slot in as the shoulder pads.

The theme continues inside the cabin, where everything from the upholstery to the centre console and the door cards adopts the same colours. You’ll also spot a second Autobot logo perched between both seats, which could start shrieking instructions at you for how to locate Archibald Witwicky’s glasses. Possibly.

This car has also covered just 3,200 miles from new, so there’s, ahem, plenty of life left in its All Spark. Here, said All Spark is a 1,200bhp iteration of Bugatti’s now-retired 16.4-litre quad-turbo W16. That’ll catapult you to 62mph in just 2.6s and keep going onto a vmax of 254mph. In other words, that’s quick enough to put Starscream in his place.

There’s no pre-auction estimate pencilled in the listing, but our best guess would circle around the two million quid mark. That’s the price to pay to soundly scare off Megatron every time he turns up at your dinner party, it seems.
