Weber supercar news - Only its mother could love it... - 2008
This car is so ugly that you have to tie a steak around it to get the dog to play with it... and so on, and on.
Yes, despite its warthog looks, the Weber 'super sports car' looks set to make its production debut later this year.
The car, first seen at the Top Marques show in Monaco last year, has completed its early testing and from the looks of the spec, genuinely could be a contender for the 'fastest car in the world' crown.
The two-seater weighs just 1,100kg, has an intelligent four-wheel-drive system, and a twin-supercharged LS7 Corvette engine with 900bhp. Weber says the car will sprint from 0-188mph in 16 seconds and top 250mph.
There's also an electronically controlled deployable rear wing that acts as an air brake. The wing can deploy into a fully vertical position in 50 milliseconds and creates up to 4,000 newtons of additional braking power.
We look forward to driving it, wearing dark glasses and a cap, later this year.
