McLaren Mercedes SLR news - Swiss tuner murders the McMerc - 2010

Ah, Switzerland. That plateau of restraint, decorum and peace. A country whose cities officially rank as offering the highest quality of life on Earth, and a near 200-year history of neutrality from war. Even Lewis Hamilton lives there, not to stop George Osborne from pilfering his F1 millions, but for the peace of life, obviously.

Sadly, Swiss tuner Ueli Anliker is hell-bent on shattering this idyll. Largely because he has saw fit to murder a Mercedes SLR, and then layer it in gold.

This, the Anliker McLaren SLR 999 Red Gold Dream, is the result of Anliker's nefarious mind. It contains 600 rubies, 5kg of gold, a new bodykit and that fetching red paintjob, which is currently burning a hole through your eyes and into your nightmares.

It first debuted in 2009, but has now returned to inflict more horror to the automotive world. It is reportedly worth over £3 million, and will showcase at the MY CAR tuning show in Dortmund next week. Remember, if you don't wake up screaming, you won't wake up at all...
