How to turn a Boxster into a Lamborghini

Published: 30 Oct 2013

This is not a 6.5-litre, V12-engined 661bhp million-pound exotic Italian hypercar capable of accelerating from 0-62mph in 3.4 seconds. It's a replica of said exotic Italian hypercar capable of, well, we're not entirely sure what.

An unidentified Lamborghini enthusiast has built a replica of the Reventon Roadster, and has based it on what we think is a Porsche Boxster. How have we come to such a conclusion? Unsurpassed industry expertise, of course. And also the massive Porsche key hanging down in the interior pic. Plus it's a small-ish drop-top.

Sadly we don't know yet if this is a running replica, if it'll melt on startup, if there's a flat-six at the back or if it's powered by pedals (remember Hammond's gold Porsche 911?). It's not a bad replica, to be fair, but...it's still a replica. To the uninitiated, it looks a bit tacky. To the Lambo faithful, replicating a Reventon on German underpinnings is as sacrilegious as the carbon fibre Rolls we showed you earlier. That said, the Lambo faithful haven't really got over the shock of finding Audi switchgear in the Gallardo and Aventador...

But, surely this isn't the worst replica in the world, is it? That awful Toyota MR2-based Ferrari 360 is still emblazoned on TopGear's cortex, but we suspect there are more hideous still. We hand it over to you good folk to provide some TG-worthy examples. Best efforts get published later this week on TG.com...
