Fancy driving the Queen around?

Published: 16 Aug 2012

Yes, the Royal Household's just posted a job listing for a chauffeur. The solitary requirement? A full UK driving license...

The Royal Household also specifies that you have to "work effectively within a small team, have good administration skills with experience of using email, have clear communication skills with an ability to deploy tact and diplomacy when necessary, be motivated and committed to maintaining high standards, and be really good at massive great big skids."

We made the last one up, but the other stipulations sound perfectly reasonable. But austerity's hit the Realm - you only get £23,000 a year for 48 hours a week. That said, accommodation at Buckingham Palace is available (presumably accessed via the tradesman's entrance, not the front gate).

So - anyone fancy getting up close and personal with Elizabeth II (yes, her from the stamps)? Or is this one for The Stig?
