The Stig is back on your telly this weekend

He's been twiddling his thumbs waiting for the return of Top Gear later this year, so we thought we'd send our tame racing driver on a mission.

You can see the results on TV screens this weekend, as The Stig stars as the formidable opponent awaiting contestants on The Getaway Car, a new entertainment show on BBC One hosted by Dermot O'Leary.

It sees pairs of people - married couples, siblings, best friends - attempt to work together to overcome a number of driving challenges, with the most successful coming up against the white-helmeted one in a battle for £10,000.

All manner of cars feature in the show, from off-road buggies to TG favourites such as the Jaguar F-Type, Mercedes-AMG GT and TG's former Car of the Year, the Toyota GT86. With our Stig in charge of some rear-driven sports cars there will, it’s safe to say, be some skids.
