Singer reveals another 911

There was yet more good news for fans of the new Porsche 911 today, as US firm Singer unveiled a really old one. A new old Porsche 911.

To coincide with the Los Angeles motor show, the Californian coachbuilder revealed the fourth customer car to emerge from its unique customisation process; a process that involves taking a 964-chassis Porsche 911, and then filling it with many important shiny bits. Important shiny bits like a gearbox, some suspension and an engine. A new 3.9-litre engine, don't forget, now built by Cosworth.

No word on whether this fourth customer car, now in silver, produces the 360bhp or 400bhp offered, but Singer told us the vehicle on display in LA "boasts a more sophisticated platform than past restorations". Don't forget, Singer doesn't just bolt a new engine and ‘box onto an old chassis.

No sire, each 911(supplied by the customer) is stripped, cleaned, blasted and welded, before Singer replaces the wings, bumpers, bonnet and roof with carbon fibre versions, as well as fitting a roll-cage. The interior is bespoke and recalls the 70s and 80s - what Singer informs us is the "golden age of early car décor". Obviously, minus the beige velour and smell of damp.

Prices for something this old and this cool and this new start at £120,000 and rise to over £190,000. We liked it when it was orange, green and white. We like it now its in silver. But do you lot?
