Toyota is selling brand new parts for the 60-year-old Land Cruiser

Just like it did with the A70/80 Supra and 2000GT, Toyota will start supplying reproduction parts for the legendary 40-Series Land Cruiser

Published: 10 Aug 2021

Got an old Toyota Land Cruiser in dire need of some TLC? We bring Good News; to address a general shortage of parts for the 40-Series Land Cruiser, Toyota has announced plans to start selling components “related to the critical functions of driving, turning, and braking” for its famously indestructible 4x4.

The parts – including engines, drivelines and exhausts – will be produced by Toyota Gazoo Racing and should go on sale early next year. There will also be a form on Toyota’s website where owners can request reproductions of specific parts, so the company can see what other kinds of components it might be worth reproducing next.

As part of its ‘GR Heritage Parts’ project, Toyota already supplies reproduction parts for the A70 and A80 Supra and the 2000GT, but this is the first time it’s doing so for a Land Cruiser. The project “reproduces spare parts that have been discontinued and sells them as genuine parts through a special collaboration with suppliers, in order to support customers who wish to continue driving older vehicles that are full of memories and that they truly love”. We’re onboard.

The Land Cruiser commemorates its 70th anniversary in 2021. Click here to see how we celebrated.
