This £2.1m+ 1966 Ferrari 275 has a Blaupunkt stereo

This could potentially become the most expensive car ever sold via online auction. But the real headline is the fact that from £2.1m upwards, you’ll be the proud custodian of a period Blaupunkt audio system. And of course, the gorgeous Ferrari 275 GTB it comes attached to.

And it is gorgeous. Built in 1966, this particular 275 is the ‘long nose’ version (fairly self-explanatory), designed by Pininfarina and built by Scaglietti. Underneath sits a 3.3-litre V12 producing some 280bhp, matched to a five-speed, rear-mounted gearbox.

This particular car also got a few factory options like a torque tube driveshaft, a high-performance six-carb intake, and competition-style fuel filler cap. It lived the first few years of its life in Italy, before being sold to Luigi Chinetti Motors in the US, and has accrued some 50,000 miles in its life. No garage queen, then.

In fact, it hasn’t been restored either, and is said to be in “amazingly original and well-preserved condition”. We’re told the 275 has a “fantastic patina”,  and features Marchal driving lights, a Jaeger chronograph, Campagnolo alloys and the all-important Blaupunkt radio. For the younger readers among you, this might not mean anything.

Up for online auction in Gooding’s ‘Geared Online’ sale next month, it’s estimated to sell for upwards of £2.1m. Still a good slice of unobtanium, but what is life if we cannot dream?
