The Jannarelly Design-1 costs £86,000
325bhp lightweight is now finally for sale in the UK
We’ve followed the Jannarelly Design-1’s progress with a couple of different articles over the past few years. It was first unveiled as a rendering back in 2016, and we were instantly very excited.
There were Sixties sports car looks, a 300bhp naturally aspirated 3.5-litre V6, a six-speed manual gearbox and weight around the 800kg mark. The price was also said to be around £45,000.
Then earlier this year, after an agonising wait where we definitely didn’t forget that Jannarelly existed, the Dubai-based company brought a production-ready example to Salon Privé. This was great news – especially as power was now said to stand at 325bhp, and the 0-62mph time was under 4.0 seconds.
We also found out that the Design-1 could be had in speedster form, with a full-size windscreen, or in the fantastic coupe-spec you see above. Customisation levels were said to be huge, although we did expect the price to rise from the aforementioned estimate.
Well, the man behind the project – Anthony Jannarelly – has now announced that the retro-styled sports car is available for purchase in the UK. Hurrah!
Prices will now start from... £86,000. And that’s before you start ticking the carbon composite bodywork boxes on the options list.
So, what do you think, Internet? Apparently just 499 examples of the Design-1 will be produced worldwide. How many do you reckon will make it to our shores?
