Good lord, this TJ Jeep Wrangler is powered by an 8.3-litre Viper V10
Currently for sale on Bring a Trailer, this might just be the most bonkers Jeep mod we’ve ever seen
Looking for a car that’ll make your morning commute a little bit livelier? Look no further, because this is a... hard-topped 2006 Jeep Wrangler X.
Should also probably mention this particular TJ-generation, short-wheelbase Wrangler has been fitted with the 8.3-litre V10 engine from a second-gen Dodge Viper. Wouldn’t need a morning coffee after a drive in this thing.
When new back in 2003, said engine made 500bhp and 525lb ft of torque, and here it’s combined with lifted suspension, Dana 60 axles, a four-speed automatic gearbox and a dual-range transfer case. It's bonkers and we love it.
All of the underbody components have been powder-coated red and there are 17in American Racing wheels wrapped in chunky BFGoodrich Baja tyres. Look at those ‘Viper Edition’ decals too. It’s been done properly. The interior gets reupholstered leather seats, a matching dash, a Clarion touchscreen stereo and Boston Acoustics subwoofers.
But want to know the best bit? It's currently up for auction on Bring a Trailer, and at the time of writing the bidding is up to $17,500. Plus, we’re told the odometer is showing just 2,200 miles, which is apparently how far it has been driven since the Viper engine was squeezed in.
Go on, you know you want to.
