Gallery: just another Thursday night at Daikoku PA in Japan
A car park, yes, but a car park like no other on Earth
Welcome to a Japanese car park on a cold Thursday night.
Like any car park in Japan, it’s a place to… park your car. For a bit. Take a rest from your long journey. Have a coffee. Maybe some food. Then attempt to reconnect with the impressive concrete swirls that take you back onto the Japanese highways and byways.
And yet this is no ordinary rest area, for this be Daikoku PA – the now-iconic meeting point in Yokohama; a massive, depressingly industrial spot on a floating island packed with stunning, sometimes colourful and always interesting machinery.
Yep, it’s a warm welcome back to The World’s Best Car Park. This place has hosted some form of car enthusiast meet for well over thirty years, and even on a cold Thursday evening, there were still a few treasures to be found.
Like a proper Super GT-livered Nissan GT-R, a yellow Toyota MR2, a Liberty Walked Nissan 350Z roadster, and the majesty of a Nissan Stagea.
Have a click through the pics for a taste of what you can expect, and click here for more Daikoku goodness.
