The first Jaguar C-Type Continuation celebrates a Stirling Moss GP win
Jag has built its first customer C-Type Continuation, and we very much approve of the colour scheme
You may remember Jaguar announced back in 2021 that it would build a limited run of C-Type Continuation cars, bringing back the 3.4-litre straight-six-engined racer in its 1953 Le Mans-winning spec. Better than building anything new, we guess…
Anyway, Jag’s Classic Works division in Coventry has now finished the first customer car, and it's a strong spec. The Pastel Green paint and Suede Green leather seats are a tribute to the car that Sir Stirling Moss drove to victory at the 1952 Reims Grand Prix. That was the first C-Type fitted with disc brakes to win in international competition, with the innovation subsequently allowing Jaguar to dominate the following year’s Le Mans 24hr. Fairly big moment then.
Jag says that 3,000 hours of work goes into creating each C-Type Continuation, with at least 250 miles of testing needed at the end of it all. Originally it announced that it would build just eight examples and it looks like a couple of slots might still be available. In fact, you can even configure your own by clicking these blue words. Enjoy…
