Alfa Romeo SZ
That its 33-year-old design still looks... let's say 'unique', is a big reason for its appeal. The Alfa Romeo SZ also shares genes with the company's touring car program, so there's a 3.0-litre ‘Busso’ V6 on board with around 207bhp. Good engine, that.

If you're lucky, you may be able to squeeze in a sought-after ‘Evolution’ for under £50k, but chances are you’ll be settling for the legendary rally car’s penultimate form in the HF Integrale 16V. But worry not, because this is arguably the most successful of the Integrale range in motorsport, having made a winning debut at the San Remo rally in 1989.
Porsche 911
Obviously a 911 needs to be in here, but which of the gazillion 911s that exist should make the cut is of course, wildly subjective. We found this gorgeous 1981 Targa in green for well under budget. Because Targas are cool.

Easily one of Britain's greatest hits, the Esprit mashed pre-Noughties design with a turbocharged V8. Lovely. We reckon this 33,000-mile example in black is close to perfection, though if for some reason you want more perfection, we found a rare one-of-196 Esprit GT3 for sale.
Ferrari 360
You can now very much get a Ferrari for under fifty grand, with Californias, F430s and 612 Scaligettis among our finds. But we’d rather put our money on a low-mileage 360, such as this one. Whatever you go for, just don’t end up with an MR-2, okay?
Jaguar E-Type
You don't need an explanation. Just get this V12 E-Type.
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Tommi Makinen
People outside the world of bobble hats and motorsport-inspired four-wheel-drive loons will likely be unaware of Tommi Makinen, which means that should you buy this rather excellent Evo, you can pretend to this audience that you are Tommi Makinen, and this car was built especially for you! This one's even available for a pound under budget. If only our wallet was as thick as the temptation *sobs*.
