Peel P50: it’s back

Published: 19 Aug 2010

Big News for Small Cars, TopGearers - the Peel P50 is making a comeback.

The diminutive wonder was given a big boost after Dragon's Den star James Caan pledged a massive investment to Peel Engineering's new owners for a relaunch.

Entrepreneurs Faizal Khan and Gary Hillman bought Peel Engineering a couple of years back and have been building electric-powered replicas of the micro motor since.

With Caan's £80,000 investment, Khan and Hillman plan to take the Peel brand worldwide with a new product range, and we are rather excited. Imagine the possiblities - Peel toilet roll holders; P50 squeaky dog chews; Peel stairlifts...the list is endless.

Anyway, this is important because if enough people buy Peel-related stuff, the company makes money to build more P50s. Which is, frankly, the best small car on Earth.

TopGear telly even managed to squeeze 6ft 5in of ‘Jeremy Clarkson' in one a while back in what has become known as ‘that Peel P50 film'.
