New BMW M5 gets sideways

The Internet will tell you that the Miramas circuit in the south of France was once home to the French Grand Prix where, in 1926, a man named Jules drove a Bugatti to victory.

We will tell you that today that circuit is currently hosting BMW's upcoming Teutonic truncheon of slideyness. Yes, it's another M5 teaser, and this time, we're doing burnouts.

BMW has revealed this clip showing the super-saloon's drifting ability, launch control function (preventing you from needing a new set of rear tyres say, every morning) and, erm, how it can ‘drive-through-a-village'. Sadly, no other details are present, other than the fact it topped 190mph. Which is fast. You'll of course know that it now packs a 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 mated to a seven-speed double-clutch box.

Ignore the marketing spiel and enjoy the momentary lunacy. We can't wait to get our hands on this thing...
