Video: ‘Turbo’ stars pimp their shells

Published: 09 Jul 2013

Later this year, Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L Jackson, Snoop Dogg and a few others will appear on your local cinema screens in the form of snails.

Should you be concerned? Only if you have a heart made entirely of stone, because these are animated racing snails, in what looks to be the most adorable movie you'll likely see this year, Turbo.

We've already shown you a few bits and pieces from the film, but for those who are just joining us, the premise is simple: TG's good friend Ryan Reynolds is the voice of Turbo, our plucky snail protagonist who one day - while suffering a mild existential crisis - gets sucked into the NOS spray of a 700bhp Camaro, and pops out the other end with super speed.

Naturally, he wants to use this speed and race...in the Indianapolis 500. He does so, and enlists the help of some racing snails. And, because they're racing snails, they need racing shells. Things like active aero and larger intakes and chrome plating and dual exhaust pipes and dual side intakes and fluffy pink dice. Ahem.

It'll hit your big cinema screens on 18 October, so keep an eye out. In the meantime, let us know your innermost thoughts on Turbo in the handy space below.
