New Batmobile is a 205mph monster

First official details of armoured, military-grade motor from Batman vs Superman

Published: 12 Jun 2015

This is the new Batmobile. It is the new Batmobile from the upcoming Batman vs Superman film, called Batman vs Superman. And as you can see, there are GUNS.

Specifically, twin .50 caliber retractable machine gun turrets, mounted on the front of a fully armoured, um, Thing. The new Batmobile been officially unveiled at the 2015 Licensing Expo in Las Vegas, along with some rather scant details.

Details like the fact it'll be ‘stealth capable', feature ‘active protection systems' and ‘anti-ballistics', as well as full armour plating. It's 20ft long, 12ft wide, weighs a whopping 3,175kg and will apparently top out at 205mph.

Though quite how it'll reach 205mph is another unanswered question, because powertrain details haven't been revealed. So we don't know if it'll borrow from the last ‘Tumbler' Batmobile and use a 400bhp Chevy V8.

Whichever way, it's going to need a whole lot of power to haul all that amour-plating up to the double-ton. It'll likely need ever inch of protection it can get, seeing as its going up against an actual alien.

The film - which pits Batman and Superman in the same film for the first time ever - isn't due to be released until next year, so you'll have to wait a while before you see it on the big screen.

Until then, tell us what you think of the 205mph Batmobile, and where it fits in the list of your favourite ever Batmobiles...
