Yep, everyone’s favourite talking car is making a comeback for the big screen

Published: 10 Aug 2020

Knight Rider is coming back. Deadline is reporting that the much-loved 1980s TV series - featuring everyone’s favourite talking car - is being revitalised for the big screen.

The director behind Aquaman, James Wan, is developing the film, with writing duties falling to videogame writer and screenwriter TJ Fixman. The movie will apparently be set in the present day, though no further details have been announced.

On the announcement, Fixman – who wrote the videogames Ratchet and Clank, Overstrike and Resistance 2, tweeted: “Knight Rider was one of my favourite shows as a kid, so this feels like I just stepped through a time portal and high-fived my 8-year old self”.

Will David Hasselhoff make a cameo? Will we see the return of the Pontiac Firebird? Will we hear that simply amazing theme tune? Only time will tell.

Let us fill that time with your desires. Want to see a Pontiac Firebird on the big screen, or reckon KITT deserves something more modern for our times? Let us know below.

And here's why KITT has to be the best car in the world. Possibly.
