The first big trailer for Brad Pitt’s ‘F1’ is here, and it looks… rather good
Preview shows various racing sequences, light introductions for current Formula One drivers and... an almost total lack of dialogue
In case you didn’t know, Brad Pitt is making a movie about Formula One… called ‘F1’. Obviously. In it, Pitt will play a veteran driver whose primary goal is to build a car that’ll put the likes of Red Bull, Ferrari and Mercedes to the sword.
A new trailer has dropped (linked here), and it certainly looks the part. It begins with one of the few bits of actual dialogue in the whole trailer, where Pitt discusses how his car’s lack of speed on the straights will be ‘combated’ by the twisty things in between. Good thinking, that.
It then continues to the We Will Rock You phase, which strings together a sequence of stunning race visuals and a light introduction to some of the big names that’ll feature, including Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies and Damson Idris.
Oh, Lewis Hamilton’s also got a cameo role to play at some point - given that he’s formed part of the cast list - as will (seemingly) most of the actual Formula One grid, with Verstappen, Perez and Alonso among those spotted around the 51-second mark.
The trailer also previews several POV driving shots, similar to those we see in actual Formula One - and one such shot takes you right through Spa Francorchamps’ Eau Rouge. At full chat. Nice.
As exciting as all this looks (and sounds), we’ve still got around a year to wait until F1 even releases on 25 June 2025. Reckon it’ll be worth the wait?
