A Fast & Furious cartoon series is coming
Put down your tuna sandwiches: new animated F&F series announced
Netflix and… gearchanges? That appears to be the order of the day – or the near future – as the streaming giant has announced a new Fast & Furious animated series, coming to the small screen in the near future.
Yes folks, just when you thought the impossibly successful Fast & Furious franchise was getting a little cartoony, along comes an actual F&F cartoon. We’re told the new series will follow the adventures of teenager Tony Toretto and his street-racing friends.
Tony is Dom’s cousin, because family. Tone’ is recruited by the government to infiltrate an “elite racing league serving as a front for a nefarious crime organisation bent on world domination”. Pretty much standard fare, then.
“We can’t wait to get started on the new animated series that will capture the action, heart, humour and global appeal of the feature films,” explains Netflix’s Melissa Cobb.
At this rate, the F&F franchise – one that has earned over $5 billion at the box office and still has three more movies in the pipeline – will continue long into the future…
