Watch the new 'Fast and Furious 8' trailer here

Yes folks, your friendly neighbourhood tuners/heist merchants are back

Published: 12 Dec 2016

With global earnings of more than $3.8 billion at the box office, was this any surprise? No, not really. And anyway, Vin Diesel told us last year there'll be more. So here is more. Ladies and gentlemen, may we present the brand new trailer for Fast and Furious 8.

We're told for this eighth instalment, characters Dom and Letty (Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez) have both "retired from the game" (the game of launching cars out of skyscrapers, naturally), while the rest of the team have been exonerated for their various activities. They even - whisper it - have a "normal life".

But in steps series newbie Charlize Theron (who knows a thing or two about an explodey car movie), to "seduce" Dom back into the criminal world he just can't seem to catch a break from. All very Michael Corleone, right? RIGHT?

He will face trials. He will face Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. And of course, he will face some of the world's most audacious car stunts ever committed to film. The plot is not important. What is, is the sheer level of vehicular destruction.

This opening trailer gives you a teaser - including ramming a beloved Defender off the road - of the action. And we couldn't help but notice that amongst the usual smattering of American muscle cars sits a Mercedes-AMG GT, a Jag F-Type and even a Bentley. And an orange Lamborghini. And a tank. As you do.

The cast? Along with Diesel, Rodriguez and Johnson, you'll find Jason Statham, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Elsa Pataky and Kurt Russell. There's also Clint Eastwood's son Scott, and our very own Helen Mirren.

Oh, and a cameo from a wrecking ball.

Enough words, just hit these words to watch the trailer. It's scheduled for release on April 14th, 2017.
