Exclusive clip: Nolan on the Batmobile

Published: 23 Nov 2012

If you haven't yet seen The Dark Knight Rises, shame on you. It's brilliant. Thunderous. Epic. And, it's got one of the most audacious automobiles to ever be committed to celluloid.

The ‘Tumbler', also known as, the Batmobile.

Luckily for you, The Dark Knight Rises is being released on DVD very soon, and as a little teaser, TopGear.com has managed to bag an exclusive segment from the disc where Oscar-nominated director Christopher Nolan - the man behind Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and TDKR - talks a little about the other star of the film.

Naturally, because he's Chris Nolan and really quite ruddy talented, his concern wasn't dealing with one of the biggest automotive icons in cinema history, but rather making it fit his ambitious storyline. A storyline that takes place some eight years after The Dark Knight, which saw Batman take the blame for Harvey Dent's murder. Now, Bruce Wayne's a physical wreck, and Gotham City is soon targeted by a very big man called Bane who's really not very nice and has a penchant for violence.

Have a watch of our exclusive little clip below, and then stay tuned on TopGear.com because next Monday, we'll have more on the 'Tumbler'...

The Dark Knight Rises is released on Blu-ray, DVD and digital download from 3rd December
