Director Paul Feig reveals Ecto 1, the new Ghostbusters car
Eighties Cadillac hearse will star in next year's parapsychologistical remake
Everybody can relax, they’ve found the car. Specifically, the car that will feature in the brand new Ghostbusters remake, scheduled to hit cinemas next year.
Director Paul Feig – the man tasked with quite possibly one of the hardest jobs in the film industry – tweeted this picture of the new ‘Ecto 1’ accompanied by a single, solitary hashtag: #whattheygonnadrive
Ecto 1 is a Eighties Cadillac hearse, keeping in tradition with the original Ghostbusters, in which the parapsychologists famously drove a 1959 Caddy.
Though there’s no word on whether this one will need some suspension work, and shocks, and brakes, brake pads, linings, steering box, transmission, rear end, also new rings, also mufflers, a little wiring…
But either way, both Ecto1 and the new Ghostbusters have some mighty big shoes to fill. Shoes filled this time by an all-female cast, specifically Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones.
All we know is this. When someone asks if you’re a god, you say yes. What do you say on this new Ghostbusters-mobile? And indeed, the idea of a remake?
