As a well informed TopGear.commer , you will already know that it's Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend - Lord March's rather large, rather wonderful automotive garden party.

But Land Rover, as British as the Empire (only slightly larger), thought it might be nice to put together a little reminder that the doors open to FoS this week. So it recruited a new Range Rover Sport, a Vickers Supermarine Spitfire, and Lord March's back garden - the Goodwood aerodrome. Then there was a race, which RR kindly filmed.

So, 1945, 1,750bhp V12 fighter plane versus 2013, 510bhp supercharged V8.
