The Lynk & Co 03+ Cyan Edition celebrates much racing success
Only for China, the 03 shares a platform with the Volvo XC40 and Polestar 2
Here’s a car you’ll probably never, ever see in Europe. It’s a racy-looking version of the Lynk & Co 03 built to celebrate the company’s three World Touring Car Cup titles. You may not recognise the car, but you ought to recognise the colour – this thing is the work of Cyan Racing, which runs the 03 in the WTCR and last year built that magnificent Volvo P1800 restomod.
Lynk & Co is a part of Geely, which also owns Volvo. The 03 is thus based on the same ‘CMA’ platform as the Volvo XC40 and Polestar 2. Cyan is the race team formerly known as Polestar – it was re-named Cyan Racing when Volvo appropriated the name for its all-electric performance offshoot.
The ‘03+ Cyan Edition’, which will only be available in China, is richly specified. We’re talking Akebono brakes, sticky Michelin tyres, an adjustable carbon front splitter and rear wing and adjustable Bilstein dampers. Not notably quick in a straight line, though, with just 261bhp to play with. Careful not to confuse it with 2019’s Lynk & Co Cyan Racing Concept, which lapped the ‘Ring in a ruddy quick 7m 20s.
