LoveFab builds insane Pikes Peak racer
Cast your mind back to the summer of 2012 and the Pikes Peak International Hillclimb. We were there. We got sunburned. And we fell in love with this LoveFab Honda NSX.
Thing is, the team didn't have the best of luck - on day two of qualifying, the car's owner, Cody Loveland, fell off the hill at 60mph, ending his 2012 hopes in the event's superbly insane Unlimited class. But he's just announced that he'll be back this year in another Honda NSX-based racer called the Enviate...
And when we say NSX-based, we mean it in the loosest possible sense. Apart from the suspension and subframes, all of the original Honda bits have been replaced by LoveFab parts. Powered by a dry-sump LS1 V8 pushing out 800lb ft, it has a tubular chromoly chassis and full carbon body so it only weighs around 910kg. Lucky there's plenty of aero, otherwise this thing might well take off...
