A while back, we proclaimed that the sight of a Mercedes 300SL ‘gullwing' strapped to the back of a Mercedes Renntransporter in California was the coolest picture we'd seen in a while.
Then we saw this.
It's none other than former Le Mans 24hr winner and ex-Formula One racer Jochen Mass driving a converted Citroen DS transporter, with an AC Cobra strapped to the back. This is sub-zero levels of cool.
The reason? As part of the Mielenwerk Historic Racing team, Mass will drive the original AC Cobra racer at this weekend's Goodwood Revival; that celebration of historic motoring held on the track next to Lord March's rather palatial Goodwood House.
The team could have simply shipped over the Cobra and flown down to Goodwood in peace and tranquillity. But that's boring. Plus, they wanted to celebrate 50 years of the Cobra and take in the Meilenwerk plants in England. So the team set off from the old Nürburgring paddock in Germany - complete with a historic Mercedes Benz team bus in tow - and headed off on their road trip to Blighty.
Tell us, people of the Internet: have you seen a cooler combination than this?
