Citroen C4 By Loeb news - Loeb-otomy - 20009
You may have heard of a gentleman called Sebastien Loeb. He's quite good at the rally-thing. He drives for a team called Citroen.
So, to honour the most successful driver in the history of the WRC (50 wins, five championships and counting), Citroen has released a special, superhot edition of its C4 hatch. It's called the C4 By Loeb. To capitalise on all the sportiness, see. Like Subaru did with Richard Burns and the RB5. And the RB320.
So what mad power and excitement does this C4 By Loeb pack? Pace to rival the Focus RS? A bodykit to rival the, er, Focus RS?
No. A tacky signature on the doors, a sticker on the tailgate, new wing mirrors and a new spoiler, that's what. No more power, no limited slip diff, no beefed-up turbo engine promising torque steer galore. Same modest petrol and diesel engines as you get in the standard C4.
That said, you do get some red stitching on the inside. Ooh, and red surrounds on your floor mats.
Come on, Citroen. You can do better than this. You've got arguably the greatest driver in the world on your books. You've got design flair in spades. Stick ‘em together and give us a proper hot hatch. Not this. Stop using Seb's name in vain.
