Chevrolet will race this wild Camaro GT4.R
ZL1-based racer will go into battle with Mustangs, McLarens and AMGs
Ford, Porsche, McLaren and Mercedes-AMG all build cars eligible for GT4 racing. And to this glittering list of machinery, you can add a newcomer: the Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R.
Yup, Team Chevy - Chevrolet's official race team - has today revealed its intention to build and race a rather harder version of the new Camaro in the IMSA Continental Tyre Sports Car Challenge GS, and Pirelli World Challenge GTS.
There's really not much to go on at the moment other than the rather tasty looking render above, and the knowledge that it'll pack a tuned version of that 6.2-litre V8. The car this GT4 is based on, the Camaro ZL1, packs 650bhp from a supercharged version of that V8. It's quite good, too.
Elsewhere, and more obviously, you'll be able to cast your eyes over the slightly modified front splitter, and of course the rear wing. Downforce, and all that. No doubt you'll spot trick chassis mods and monster brakes.
We'll bring you something more concrete as soon as we hear it. For now, why not tell us which of the manufacturer GT4 cars takes your fancy - Mustang, Cayman, 570S or AMG GT?
