Watch the Venom GT go from 0-230mph
As committed petrolheads acclimatised to bombastic figures of horsepower and torque and such, we're pretty much used to hearing about hugely powerful cars.
But sometimes, sometimes, it's worth just hearing hugely powerful cars. Because although it's nice to read about a 0-124mph time of 7.96 seconds, it's a very different ballgame when you see it and hear it on camera.
So here, ladies and gentlemen, is a short video clip of Hennessey's brutally bombastic 1244bhp Venom GT. Yes, we know Mr Hennessey has built an even more powerful 1500bhp Venom GT2, but this one's still got plenty of poke.
Specifically, enough poke to see it accelerate from 0-186mph in 13.48 seconds and hit a top speed of 230mph, from rest, in just 19.96 seconds.
The video's below. The sound of that 7.0-litre, twin turbo aluminium V8 setting off the traction control in third gear is enough to send shivers down your spine. Also sounds like it's about to take off...
