Video: 700bhp 'Vette run an 11-sec quarter

Here is a video of John Hennessey's modified C7-generation Corvette doing unspeakable things to a drag strip.

In a video labelled ‘1/4 mile testing', the modified Corvette showcases that, with a handful of careful modifications - a 2.3-litre supercharger system, high flow cylinder heads, a HPE700 cam and some ECU tweaks - it is able to go quite fast indeed.

How fast? It'll cover 60ft in 1.77s, go from 0-60mph in 2.9 seconds, and run a quarter mile in 10.97 seconds and 131.3mph. Fast, then.

And, befitting of its Corvette nameplate, it also sounds delightful. Have a watch, and then be afraid, because with the new Ford GT having just been released, one can only imagine what Hennessey plans to do with that car...
