Uh oh, Brabus has modified the Mercedes-Maybach GLS to 788bhp
And just wait until you see the interior...
Sorry to disrupt your day, but Brabus has modified the Mercedes-Maybach GLS.
This is the Brabus 800, based on the 600 version of the massive luxury SUV. It’s a Brabus so naturally there’s extra power – 788bhp and 701lb ft of torque thanks to a pair of upgraded turbochargers and a new plug-and-play ECU for the 4.0-litre V8. That’s luxury.
Zero to 62mph now takes 4.5 seconds, but top speed is limited to 186mph presumably because the Maybach weighs as much as a small village.
There is actually a modicum of restraint to the exterior. There’s a whole heap of carbon fibre in the form of a diffuser and a lip spoiler, plus HUGE 24-inch forged monobloc wheels and a 25mm drop to the air suspension. All of the chrome has also been replaced by dark grey trim.
The interior is... not. Not had a recent eye examination? You may require one after this. So much orange.
There’s a whole load of new carbon fibre in there too, plus a new ‘tailor-made business console’ with retractable tables. Top Gear does not wish to know what kind of business this entails.
