This tuned Mercedes CLA has 535bhp and will hit 199mph

Can’t wait for the new Merc-AMG CLA 45 S? You’re in luck

Published: 09 Jul 2019

The new Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 S will have 415bhp. That kind of power from a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo was almost inconceivable just a few years ago.

Though, should you require yet more horsepower from your baby Merc, snappily-named Polish tuner auto-Dynamics.pl has your back. This is its take on the outgoing CLA 45, and it’s got 535bhp and 472lb ft of torque. Wowsers.

That is quite a bit of power, and means the CLA will hit a stonking 199mph before it even thinks about running out of steam. Naturally, it’s taken quite a bit of work to get to this stage – auto-Dynamics says that the car is ‘extremely modified’. We don’t doubt.

Under the skin there’s a completely new turbo, as well as a parts list where the manufacturers read like a who’s who of the tuning world. So, there’s Pagid brakes, Bilstein suspension, a Remus exhaust system and BBS wheels to name but a few.

Styling-wise things are relatively restrained in comparison to the power outputs. auto-Dynamics has added its own package with a few gloss-black fins and lips, but it really does miss the AMG signature grille that the new car has gained.

Still, we think we could forgive a grille if it meant being able to experience 535bhp in a Mercedes A-Class. Those are properly crazy numbers.
