These new M Performance parts will make your G90 M5 look even meaner
Much carbon has been infused into the exterior, with new alloys and vinyls thrown on for even more drama
With the release of its all-new, heavier-than-most-planets G90 M5, BMW has followed up with a selection of bolt-on performance parts to add more panto to an already melodramatic look.
The highlights include a massive two-stage rear diffuser, which tucks in above the revised titanium/carbon quad exhaust tips, a thin new rear wing (what even is the point?) and a more aggressive front lip. The latter now also means the low central air intake is given more stage time, and works quite well with the snarly, retro kidney grilles and moody light signatures.
It all looks rather nice, and mates well with the flash yellow body of the example seen, right? Oh, this lot is also made entirely of carbon fibre, if you haven’t noticed already, and helps the whole car sit lower down to the floor.
Other bits and bobs include more carbon on the mirror caps, aerial cover and fuel tank cap, with the redecorated light-alloy wheels perhaps the only new fit that isn’t made of the good stuff. BMW will apply the funky vinyl design seen along the car’s lower flanks if you so wish too. Attractive optional extra, that.
No changes to the powertrain have been mentioned, so the new M5’s twin-turbo hybrid V8 should still send 717bhp and 737lb ft to the road through an eight-speed auto box. Prices start at £110,000 for the G90, with these M Performance parts likely sending that figure up a few leagues north.
