This six-wheeled Suzuki Jimny is possibly the greatest thing we’ve ever seen
Currently up for sale for £45,000, this isn’t quite a Jimny 6x6…
Back in 2013, Mercedes unveiled the G63 AMG 6x6. Since then, many have tried to replicate the original six-wheeled G’s presence by jacking up the ride height of their SUV or truck and whacking another axle underneath. None of those creations have been able to conjure up the excitement we felt when we first saw the bonkers G63... until now.
You see, this is a custom-built Suzuki Jimny 6x6. Although actually, the new rear wheels are just for show so it’s technically a Jimny 6x4. Still extremely cool.
This car began its life as a 2019 JDM Jimny with an auto gearbox before it was shipped over to Blighty by the current owner. Said owner had seen a rendering of a six-wheeled Jimny concept online and decided that such a thing should exist in the real world. Oh, how right they were.
Mocho Fabrication in the Cotswolds village of Broadway was tasked with the transformation. Both the body and chassis were extended, before a genuine Jimny axle was sourced and fitted out back. A custom rear pickup bed was fabricated to make use of the extra real estate, and genuine Suzuki arches give it a surprisingly OEM-spec finish. And yes, that is Audi’s Nardo Grey paint.
Not content with the exterior mods, the interior has been retrimmed too with fancy quilted leather and an aftermarket Kenwood Apple CarPlay system. It is still running the standard 100bhp 1.5-litre engine, so a trip to Twisted for their turbo upgrade is certainly in order.
Want to know the best bit? This glorious creation is currently up for sale through Historics Auctioneers. Yep, you could own it. It failed to sell at the recent Ascot sale but is still listed on eBay with an asking price of £45,000. Of course, you could have a standard fourth-gen Jimny for half the price, but surely more wheels = more fun?
