Mercedes-Benz CL news - Mein Gott - 2007

Published: 16 May 2007

You know a car is packing some serious power when its top speed has been limited to a mere 211mph.

This is the case with the Brabus SV12 S Biturbo, a Mercedes CL coupe with the German tuning firm's rather beefy motor fitted.

The 6.1-litre engine is the most powerful road-going V12 engine in the world, thanks to 730bhp and 8,11lb ft of torque.

Along with the increase in engine capacity, all that power is helped along by larger turbochargers and a custom exhaust.

Brabus accounts for the huge speed with an aerodynamic package to keep the SV12 firmly on the road, and massive brakes to slow the whole thing.

Being German, Brabus can't help itself from shouting about the car's performance, so 21in alloy wheels are fitted and customers can go mad with the interior fittings and bling.

If you want to find out what it's like to hit the speed limiter at 211mph, you'll need to hand over a CL600 and substantial sum of money to Brabus.
