Mansory unleashes tuned, 691bhp Bentley Bentayga

Seven things you need to know about SEMA show star

  • It’s dripping with carbon fibre

“When in doubt, add carbon fibre” is, we suspect, Mansory’s motto. Its Bentayga is covered in the stuff. The front apron, two-piece spoiler, bonnet, side-skirts, mirror housings – all carbon, and all eminently, um, 'challenging'.

  • It’s even faster than a standard Bentley Bentayga

No tuned SUV would be complete without a welcome but pointless ECU flash. Power is up to 691bhp from 600bhp, torque is up by 111lb ft to 774lb ft and the top-speed is up by 6mph or so. There’s also a sports exhaust to liberate some more noise from the normally hushed W12.

  • They’ve done odd things to the steering wheel

Weirdly-shaped steering wheels are nothing new, but this one’s especially odd and therefore worthy of mention. What possible reason could Mansory have had for disfiguring a perfectly good, perfectly round steering wheel? Answers below please.

  • It looks even worse in black

Judgement call, clearly, but we’d have the white one. Black looks messier, for some reason.

  • The 23s make it look “noble”. Apparently

Or to be specific, the diamond-polished rim surface “underlines the car’s noble aesthetic”. If anything, that Mansory’s lightweight 23s don’t look massive under the Bentley’s considerable flanks underscores just how big this SUV is to begin with.

  • You can never have too many LEDs

Which is why Mansory’s integrated more LED running-lights into the Bentley’s front-end. Good for intimidating peasants out of your way.

  • It’s coming to SEMA

The world’s foremost tuning show in Las Vegas is where the Mansory Bentayga will make its public debut. If last year’s show is anything to go by, it’ll look pretty tame in comparison…
