Look at this modified Alfa Romeo 4C

Pogea Racing gives us a 4C with more power and better aero

Published: 25 Feb 2019

Welcome to German tuner Pogea Racing’s modified Alfa Romeo 4C. It’s called the ‘Zeus’ – there will only ever be ten, and three have already been sold for €50,100 (plus a standard 4C to which Pogea can bolt all the bits).

Your €50K buys you more than just a bodykit. Which is nice, even if the bodykit in question is made out of carbon fibre, and claims aero, weight and cooling advantages over the factory bodywork.

Power is up to 351bhp thanks to the obligatory software changes, plus a modified turbocharger and better fuel system. The gearbox gets a ceramic clutch and new software for faster changes, while the exhaust has been swapped for an “acoustically stunning” item from a company called Monster. 0-62mph is 1.1 seconds quicker than standard – 3.4 seconds plays 4.5 seconds – and the top speed is 189mph. The standard car runs out of puff at 160mph.

Underneath is Pogea’s own adjustable coilover suspension, which it says lowers the 4C’s already no-doubt very low centre-of-gravity by another 50mm. Thankfully there’s a front-axle lifting system for clearing speedbumps and so-on. Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres are wrapped around 18in forged alloys at the front, and 19s at the rear. All told, the Zeus weighs in at 1007kg with a full tank of fuel.

Now, the standard car has never been as good to drive as its looks and spec sheet would lead you to believe. Might Pogea’s mods be as successful as Alfaworks’?
